PLASTIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY

Breasts

Breast Augmentation:
A small incision is made in the inframammary fold or around the areola, and a cohesive silicone gel implant is placed behind or in front of the pectoral muscle. The surgery can be outpatient or require one day of hospitalization. Patients need about five days of postoperative rest before resuming normal activity, and should avoid strenuous exercise for the first few weeks.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy):
Mastopexy is a surgical procedure to lift and reshape the breasts. It can also reduce the size of the areolas (the darker skin around the nipple) if needed. The surgery can be performed on an outpatient basis, under general anesthesia. Patients can return to normal activity after five days, and resume physical activity 15 days after surgery.

Breast Reduction:
Overly large breasts can cause several health issues related to their weight, including postural problems, spinal deformities, back and neck pain, skin irritation, and breathing difficulties, among others. Breast reduction removes excess glandular tissue and skin. The result: more harmonious, firmer breasts, better proportioned to the rest of the body. It is performed under general anesthesia. Patients can return to normal activity after five days, and resume physical activity 15 days after surgery.
