Most common types:

• Androgenetic alopecia: Permanent hair loss on the scalp that leads to baldness.
• Alopecia areata: Sudden hair loss that starts with one or more round bald patches, which may overlap.
• Telogen effluvium: A reversible condition in which hair falls out after a period of significant stress.
• Anagen effluvium: Abnormal hair loss during the first (anagen) phase of the hair growth cycle.
